![]() ![]() Turn some song lyrics into a one-page comic spread, or even a comic splash page (a page with just one image). Intermediate Method: One-Page Comic Sheets We took a trip back into the 80s and did minimalist designs of Nena’s “99 Luftballoons” and The Smiths’ “Panic.” Images: Lisa Kay Tate Some will be harder to pinpoint than others, but the challenge is part of the fun. Listen to a song and find a recurring reference or standout phrase. There are several examples of these on sites like Pinterest. For example, a minimalist page of Star Wars might just have an outline of the Death Star, or Beauty and The Beast might just have a wilting rose. The minimalist movie poster trend is popular among fan artists, using only simple images, or one image, to capture the entire essence of the story. Here are three ways of taking on this creative exercise, depending on how much time and effort you want to put into this project. This project can also help get rid of a song that has been lodged in one’s brain for a good part of the day. Try thinking of a song that represents a certain era, or remember a simple nursery song from school. It doesn’t even have to be a “favorite” song. Treat these songs as a favorite movie, book or show, and turn them into fan art. However, songs with lyrics can be seen differently by each listener, and every song, even mediocre songs, tell a story. Most of the time, however, these exercises are understandably done with instrumental classical or jazz style pieces, in order to let the interpretations of each artist remain as open and free as possible. Since many people, ourselves included, listen to music when we’re sketching, why not try capturing a song? The practice of interpreting music through visual art has been around long before the advent of the music video, and I’ve attended more than one art class where this has been a fun student exercise. When there’s a little more time, however, it’s good to branch out from the norm, and get inspired by something new. I completely sympathize with this, as I often appease that itch in the fingertips by doodling some quick fan art of a favorite character or fictional world. Alternately, use dual beam/laser and laugh as you horribly maim and stunlock any land you meet.Get inspired by a favorite song and make some song lyric fan art! Image by Lisa Kay Tate.īoth my daughters love to draw, but sometimes when the urge hits them they have a hard time deciding what to do when the pencil meets the paper. Only dual melee bit is dual pepen, and it has crappy range. You can actually afford to be more aggressive with airs so long as there aren't arts around, since you can get in and get out more easily.ĥ. Flying is the most versatile form of mobility. Quick Land+Float Dash is a great combination, though I don't know how viable it is cost/cart-wise.Ĥ. Since you'll be in enemy territory and are dependent on boost, you'll want quick jump, quick boost, and/or float dash. You can run x2 shields or a shield and a gun of some sort with this setup without sacrificing melee.ģ. They actually have near-identical stats to Crescent Saint's default arms (1 less fly), and stunlock effectively. If you don't want a specific melee weapon, Ace Braver AMs are fantastic as well. I personally like rapiers, but lots of people have trouble using them effectively, so.Ģ. Halberds and Lances (can airs use lances?) are also good. Popular melee choices include Kamui Staff, Sonic Blade, and Slash Blade. This is also true for land melee (see: Metal Slayer sucks ass), but it's even more important for air melee due to adding the third dimension of elevation. Melee airs should focus more on quick weapons with lots of reach than weapons with high force. Midoro drops from bosses for sure, I don't actually remember the last time I got one from arcantus.ĮDIT: And since you're never on IRC at the same time as me, some tips for Crescent Saint (or rather, general air melee):ġ. After seeing some of the other clanmates that joined though, I'm regretting that decision >_> I decided not to participate in the clan tourney because I don't have a single bot that's at max level or fully tuned. ![]()
